| CPN Label Collaboration / Music Blog | | | Electronic record labels join forces | Most people in Copenhagen take it for granted, but in several European cities they envy us. The electronic clubbing environment in Copenhagen has evolved, during the last five to ten years, with such dynamics and creativity that it can compete with some of the most colorful music scenes and the nightlife in big cities around Europe.
Despite the relatively small size of our capital it houses a fast growing underground of musicians, deejays and small record labels which constantly pushes for originality, variation and technical understanding.
The high Danish quality has already led to recognition around Europe, and now several Danish electronic record labels have decided to bring this recognition even further. They have created a collaboration: Copenhagen Label Collaboration (CLC) — so far an unseen promotional collaboration with the goal to create an even better scene for the electronic music in Denmark and to promote the Danish electronic music abroad.
"The idea is simple. We are several labels that already today enjoy the enormous growth and development the Danish club scene is in. Our releases receive great praise from European music Medias and our artists perform frequently in clubs and at festivals around Europe. We do not see each other as competitors but as collaborators with the goal to make people aware of the fact that Copenhagen and Denmark are important pieces in the puzzle called the electronic scene throughout the world. With this it has been a natural development to work together in a promotional collaboration". Jens Sonnenborg says. He runs the record label MIS Records and is the initiator of the project.
Other than MIS Records several other labels are partners in this project: 3rd Floor, Statler & Waldorf, Tech-nology, ArtiFarti, Tattoo, and Radio Recordings. Behind them they have half a hundred releases.
In 2006 the Copenhagen Label Collaboration promotion project have had an 15 event schedule that included a 5 days festival in central Copenhagen, a promotion CD-release in 5000 copies with the best Danish electronic artists, an Amsterdam Dance Event and Sonar Barcelona tour as well as a float at Love Parade in Berlin. The last events of the year, Copenhagen Label Collaboration shoots off as partner of Copenhagen Music Week with 3 label showcases at Hotel Fox and a joined night event with Platform on November 1st.
Copenhagen Label Collaboration has re-launched for 2007. | | 2007-06-25 14:43:23 | | BLOG ARCHIVE
